چکیده

An AISI 304 stainless steel laminar electrode without oxidative treatment was investigated for the potentiometric titration of hydrochloric acid with sodium hydroxide. The proposed obtained from metalworking cuttings. Scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and diffraction were used to study surface morphology chemical composition electrode. showed a sensitivity 59.18 ± 0.37 mV/pH, which reproducible under intermediate conditions. Potentiometric curve deviations pH 9.5 respect glass However, this did not affect quantification as jumps curves coincided. endpoint 9.25 mL both electrodes concentration 0.0845 mol/L, deviation 0.0004 mol/L standard 0.0841 mol/L. nonartificially oxidised show any crystalline oxide phases, whereas after oxidation it semicrystalline phases iron chromium oxides increased crystallinity steel. Despite low content oxides, can give Nernstian response pH, depending on characteristics material. This leads need calibrate prior rule out modification.

Indirect potentiometric titration of ascorbic acid in pharmaceutical preparations using copper based mercury film electrode.

A simple and rapid potentiometric method for the estimation of ascorbic acid in pharmaceutical dosage forms has been developed. The method is based on treating ascorbic acid with iodine and titration of the iodide produced equivalent to ascorbic acid with silver nitrate using Copper Based Mercury Film Electrode (CBMFE) as an indicator electrode. Interference study was carried to check possible ...

A New Approach to Data Treatment in Acid-Base Potentiometric Titration II. Determination of Polyprotic Acids and Bases

This study on potentiometric titration of polyprotic acids and bases using a glass electrode is a continuation of our paper (Maslarska V., Tencheva J., Budevsky O., Anal. Bioanal. Chem., 375, 217 (2003)) [1]. The derived earlier theoretical equation was found to fit well the experimental data. A commercial software was applied and main attention was paid to the analytical result rather than to ...

A Student-Designed Potentiometric Titration: Quantitative Determination of Iron(II) by Caro's Acid Titration

Oxidation–reduction titrations and potentiometric methods provide a convenient experimental means to quantitatively determine compositions of unknown mixtures containing oxidizable/reducible species. Over the past decade, numerous titration methods have appeared in this Journal (1–6) and in standard laboratory manuals (7–10) involving common titrants such as potassium dichromate, iodine, potass...

Potentiometric titration of sulphate, sulphite and dithionate mixtures, with use of a lead ion-selective electrode.

Simple methods are described for the analysis of sulphate, sulphite and dithionate mixtures by potentiometric titration with lead perchlorate (and use of a lead ion-selective electrode). The error and precision are both about 2-5% for the sulphate concentration range 3 x 10(-3) -6 x 10(-4)M. The sulphur content in fuels derived from refuse was determined by potentiometric titration after bomb-c...
